Fluticasone is used to help manage asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by reducing inflammation and relaxing the airways to improve breathing.
Use the Rotahaler as directed by your physician, typically twice a day. Breathe in the powder deeply through the device after loading the dose.
Avoid using the Rotahaler during acute asthma attacks. Inform your doctor if you have any infections, especially tuberculosis or fungal infections.
Do not use if you are allergic to fluticasone or any component of the Rotahaler. Not suitable for primary treatment of status asthmaticus or acute bronchospasm.
Common side effects may include throat irritation, hoarseness, or dry mouth. In rare cases, it may cause allergic reactions or weakened immune response.
Tell your doctor about all medications you use, especially other corticosteroids or CYP3A4 inhibitors like ketoconazole. These may increase the risk of side effects.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one—do not double up.
An overdose may cause symptoms like adrenal suppression or increased side effects. Seek medical help if you suspect an overdose.
Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep the Rotahaler and capsules out of reach of children.
